Regulatory Issues Forum: The Land of Opportunity: Is Deregulation the Key to Innovation and Expansion in Housing?

Description

The Regulatory Issues Forum will explore the opportunities and challenges of deregulation, and the impact of deregulation within the housing and finance sectors. Federal deregulation is a key priority for the current Administration with the President signing two executive orders focused on cutting regulations and eliminating regulatory barriers. Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs Paul Lawrence will open the forum with remarks on the Administration’s efforts to streamline housing programs and improve access for veterans. Forum panelists will discuss how deregulation will likely reshape the current housing and finance sectors. The panel will also explore the role of innovation in expanding housing opportunities in the current environment, and how state and local governments can work to address housing challenges given the current federal landscape.
