Questions about the 2022 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings

When and where are the 2022 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings? 

The 2022 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings are scheduled for May 1-6 and the Expo will be May 3-4, with both taking place at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, 165 Waterfront Street, National Harbor, MD.

How much does it cost to register?

FREE for NAR Members | $125 for Non-Members. Note: Ticketed events may require an additional fee.

Is there a virtual participation option?

Committee members not able to attend in person will be invited to participate remotely via Zoom, only for the committee they serve on. The only governance meeting open to all members to view remotely is the Board of Directors on May 6, which will be streamed at nar.realtor. In addition, some of the education sessions will be streamed to nar.realtor depending on the speakers confirmed. Details will be posted closer to the event.

Why register in advance?

Register in advance to ensure you receive all event communications, committee or business meeting information, and to choose your hotel accommodations from NAR-contracted hotels.

I have registered, but have not yet received my confirmation email, what should I do?

Please contact our registration and housing provider, Maritz Global Events, NARLegislative@maritz.com, to have it resent.

Why should I reserve my hotel room when I register for the event through NAR?

There is limited hotel space in the area so you will want to book your room promptly. NAR negotiates the lowest possible rates at area hotels. Additionally, staying in a NAR-booked hotel allows you to take advantage of networking opportunities, as attendees will make up the majority of the guests at official hotels.

Hotel reservations are made through the online registration process and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability. Some hotels will sell out in the first 24 hours of registration opening.

Do I need to register for each governance meeting in advance?

No, but we strongly recommend arriving to each meeting early for the best seating. The hotel reserves the right to close rooms if they become too crowded. All meetings are open to NAR members with the exception of meetings marked as “Closed” or “By Invitation Only” on the meetings schedule.

How should I plan my schedule?

Review the schedule of meetings. In April, download the event app to your mobile device and save your meetings and events to your personalized schedule. Printed programs will not be available on site. The mobile app will be the source for all event information while onsite: schedules, speaker and attendee lists, and exhibitor details.

If I do not stay at the Gaylord National, how will I get from my hotel to the Gaylord?

Many hotels are within walking distance to the Gaylord National. NAR will run shuttle buses from the other hotels.

What should I bring to the meeting?

Lots of business cards for networking (make sure they have a surface that is easy to write on); at least two pairs of comfortable shoes; a sweater or light jacket for air-conditioned meeting rooms.

I am new to networking. Any suggestions?

Learn two to three interesting facts about your community that will make you more memorable to those you meet. Contact colleagues who are also attending the event to set up face-to-face meetings.
