Brody Mullins, editor in chief of 535, was born and raised in Washington, rising up through the ranks of National Journal’s Congress Daily, covering tech policy, and Roll Call, where he covered lobbying, before starting a two-decade career as an investigative reporter for the Wall Street Journal, winning a Pulitzer there in 2023. He and his brother, Luke Mullins (also a 535 contributor), wrote the definitive book on the influence industry: “The Wolves of K Street.”
