Terrie O'Connor founded Terrie O'Connor Realtors in 1991, following a successful 10-year career in real estate sales, marketing and management. As both the daughter and then wife of US Naval officers, Terrie O'Connor lived in such places as Malta, Hawaii, Panama, and England as well as a dozen locations across the United States. Terrie attended the University of Maryland in London, England. In London, Terrie worked for the Commander-in-Chief US Naval Forces, Europe (CINCUSNAVEUR). This experience prepared her well for a successful career in real estate.

Terrie is a Director on the Board of Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. She is a past Chairman of the Board of the Builders Association of Northern New Jersey and was the first woman President in 1994 and 1995. She has chaired the New Jersey Builders Association's Sales and Marketing Council and their statewide Sales and Marketing Awards (SAM Awards) in Atlantic City. She was a State Director and has served as Chairman of both the Builders & Remodelers Association of Northern New Jersey Environmental and Legislative Committees as well as on the Bergen County Executive Task Force on Affordable Housing. Terrie is a past Director of the West Bergen Board of Realtors where she was active on the Professional Standards and Political Action Committees. Terrie has earned the 2015 Smart CEO Brava Award for Top Female CEO, and NJ Monthly recognized Terrie with a Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs award. In 2017, Ramapo College presented Terrie with the Havermeyer Presidential Leadership Award. Greater Bergen Realtors named Terrie the 2019 Realtor of the Year.
