A Sacramento, California Native, education is and will always be Taffy’s passion. During her successful teaching career, where she mentored student teachers, new teachers and struggling teachers, Taffy was awarded Sacramento County Teacher of the Year in 1999. In 2001, she earned her Master’s Degree in Education: Curriculum and Instruction.
After a serious health scare, Taffy retired from her career as a classroom teacher and as she was recovering, she studied for her real estate exam at the request of her REALTOR daughter, Darcie Stratton. After a full recovery, they joined together in a partnership in 2011. This Mother and Daughter team live in Placer County and have their own real estate branch office of Exp Realty in historic downtown Newcastle.
Almost from the beginning of her REALTOR career, Taffy became active in Women’s Council of REALTORS, Placer County serving in various positions and then as Network President in 2017. The following years she served as District Vice President twice and Governor at the State Level before being elected as 2021 Treasurer for California and is currently the California First Vice President. She is a proud 2020 National Women’s Council of REALTORS Leadership Institute Graduate.
In addition, she has been honored to serve on various committees with Placer County Association Of REALTORS including REALTOR Action Fund, and the Education Committee. She is currently Auburn Marketing Committee Chair and is in her fourth year as Director for Placer County Association of REALTORS. Taffy is a RPAC Major Contributor: Sterling R: Presidents Circle and was just awarded the 2021 Placer County Association of REALTORS REALTOR of the YEAR.
Besides her daughter, Darcie, other members of Taffy’s family are or have been real estate agents, including her step daughter (Wickenberg,AZ) sister (San Antonio,TX) step mother (Sacramento area Commercial) and grandfather (San Francisco, Commercial) .
Taffy and her husband, Obie, live in Newcastle on a 2.5 acre ranch with two horses, three dogs and enjoy spending as much time as they can with their 9 grandchildren.
